Microsoft installs Firefox add-on for .NET.

Grrrrrrr !!!!

Just a warning, if you had not noticed, and use FireFox, there is an add-on called Microsoft .net Framework Assistant. This add-on is different from most as you cannot uninstall it because the uninstall option is inactive in Firefox!!

The Firefox add-on that they (Microsoft) installed as part of their regular monthly patch, that is, the second Tuesday of the month deal, when they did, they introduced the .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1, which was back in February, just without telling anyone they slipped this into the Firefox add-on list.

this add-on establishes in Firefox, get this, "The ability for websites to easily and quietly install software on your PC. So the problem here is this is why you're using Firefox, is that you don't want websites to have the ability to easily and quietly install software on your PC. You've moved to Firefox because you don't want to be using the most historically vulnerable browser, Internet Explorer, in the industry. And yet Microsoft has reached over and added this feature to your Firefox browser without your knowledge or permission to do just that. Now, what makes it even problematical is that the uninstall button is disabled.

The Cove

We went to see a preview of "The Cove" and wow, this is a wake up call.

Confronting without being cringe material.

Makes me really question the Japanese values. They are SO different from what I consider normal.

The film was logically laid out, very well edited, and posed some great questions. Answers to these will only come after we (lots of us) complain, write in blogs and papers, and generally agitate for change.


"The Cove follows a team of activists and filmmakers as they infiltrate a heavily-guarded cove in Taiji, Japan. In this remote village they witness and document activities deliberately being hidden from the public: More than 20,000 dolphins and porpoises are being slaughtered each year and their meat, containing toxic levels of mercury, is being sold as food in Japan, often times labeled as whale meat.

The majority of the world is not aware this is happening. The Taiji cove is blocked off from the public. Cameras are not allowed inside and the media does not cover the story. It's critical that we get the word out in Japan. It's critical that we get the word out—everywhere. We believe that once the Japanese people know, they will demand change."

We started to watch the movie Duplex (2003) last night..... and we made it in about 15 minutes before we switched it off and did something else.

Anything else.

Predictable, grimacable, terrible.

I guess that we shall never know what happened in the end.

As if we care!

So, forget about the movie Duplex (2003) with Ben Stiller and Drew Barrymore.

Yeast

Sheesh !! What is it with yeast powder in this house? For some reason, my Loved One has dropped powdered yeast all over the kitchen floor.

TWICE !!

And not just a little, but about a cup full of the tiny little pellets that roll and bounce and get all over....

Then they are cleaned up - sort of. In secret. Until I walk in and just happen to glance down and see puddles of the yellow powder in several places over the floor. This is AFTER it has been 'cleaned'.

There has to be something in the odour that makes the containers 'jump' from her hands and fall to the floor.

Anyway, it has been cleaned up, again, and we shall await the next installment in the yeast powder saga.
